Default help with my prelude

i dont own an s2000 yet because im 19 and i could only afford a prelude for now. but ive been around here for a while and love s2000's. anyways, i dont know much about engines and i was wondering about some little things that would make my car either drive better or sound better. i dont care much about speed right now. i just want some cheaper kind of mods like a k&n air filter, etc. got any advice for me? thanks

Get an AEM or Iceman cold air intake. Your car will pick up some power and sound great, especially when you hit VTEC (if you have a VTEC equipped Prelude). Speaking of which, what year is your Prelude?

also, my friends were telling me to get K&N air filter. whats the difference between them all? the reason i come here and not to some prelude forum is because here at s2ki, its much more mature. you all seem like you LOVE cars(especially your own) and you know much more about them. at these prelude forums its a bunch of teens trying to race everyone and make their cars look like fast and the furious cars.

I actually used to own a 92 prelude si and I frequented preludeonline.com ... but of course, I moved when I changed cars

I believe the prelude's picked up a good amount of hp from the intake alone- then the exhaust/header combo.

What you want to do is eventually pick up the i/h/e (intake, header, and exhaust) combo- my friend has this on his prelude and its defintely faster compared with before.

But of course- all of that for s2k's = a somewhat dissapointing gain in hp.

yea. ive always wanted an s2000 since they came out. but of course couldnt afford one, being 16 and all. i drove a 96 saturn(mom's handmedown) all through highschool. but for the last yr i was at boot camp and ait for the army. im in the national guard. so i saved up $8000. when i got back home i put a $7000 down payment and took out a loan for this car. its not an SH. just a 2001 silver prelude with 26k miles. in almost perfect condition. i read that you'd have to drive an sh REALLY hard to notice a difference.

i went ahead and purchased the aem v2 cai. i dont care to make my car too fast. i just love to drive it hard, not race. so im just putting some little mods into it. hopefully ill have an s2000 one day after college. ill try to get some pics later.

I really like the lip kit with mugen front. Cheap and there a lot of copy of them. I/H/E and VAFC will make good bang for the buck. Look into DC, AEM, APEXi and whatever else. You can find a lot of used parts for that car right now because my coworker only pick used parts.

about how much would it cost to have headers and exhaust put on your car?
