Default Help picking daily

I need to get rid of my suby and 335 to make room for the move to a nicer house. The cars will need to be cheap to maintain/repair and reliable, and manual tranny.

For my first replacement I'm leaning towards a 4 door civic 8th gen manual tranny. Trying to keep the car price around 10k. Needless to say it's pretty tough finding used 4door civics in manual, so I'm wondering what other alternative cars people can recommend.

I don't like any previous gen civic because they're just too ugly.

For the second car I haven't really decided what to get. Just needs to fit the criteria above, but less than 10k.

So given these restrictions, what two cars would you be leaning towards? Keep in mind I already have a "fun" car, so fun and performance isn't really required.

Thanks in advance.

Cliff notes:

Need to find two cars.

Car 1: around 10k, 4 door, manual tranny, reliable, cheap maintain/fix/repair
Car 2: less than 10k, manual tranny, reliable

I think this is a continuation of the advice for "sporty and luxury cars as the only option" joke, from the other daily driver advice thread.

A Civic may not be cool and exciting, but it's just something about Corollas I HATE.

2005-2006 Toyota Corolla XRS has 170 hp. If I were to get a bullet proof DD, that's the one. Also, no one would suspect you had any power.
