Default Honda Legend

It seems the honda legend will be a V6. This car is still going to kick some serious ass. This may go down as one of my favorite luxury cars if it drives right.

Then it seems to me the one at the tokyo auto salon has no chance of being produced.

The Legend at TAS was made by Mugen and was not intended to be a production car. That was a very tricked out version of our new RL which can be seen at your local Acura dealership.

Honda can't seem to get past the fact that two extra cylinders runs up the fuel consumption rates.

Uh... yea. The "new" Legend (Acura RL) is a 300 hp v6 with the SH-AWD system, and its been out for a while. The one in the auto show was the "Mugen Legend Max."

According the C&D, the final version of the Legend max is going to be a detuned engine, which brings power down to about 400hp (but will still redline at 10,000rpm, which is kinda weird. I think there's really no reason for a sedan to redline like that, and it'll lengthen the engine's life if they lowered it), RWD. I'm assuming it HAS to be a production car (or maybe limited production), b/c otherwise, there would be no reason to detune the engine. If sold, the Legend MAX is going to be the top-of-the-line Legend, and not the mass-produced one mentioned in that article (they don't even look the same on the exterior).

This may be true in the old days, but ever notice the V6 Mustang and 350z gets better mileage than the s2k's 2.2L i-4?

So is the concept of the Legend Max going to be the legend body, with the mugen/honda engine.
