So its just the Audi version of the GTi, but beefed up?

 

the new vw is hot with the 4 motion.

 

I'm pretty sure the S3 never got the S4 bi-turbo V6...
It did however get a power hike in it's last year of life.


I'll investigate more.

Just came with the 225HP version of the 1.8t.
Maybe the next generation S3 will have the VR6 they put in the TT...

 

I watched C&D this weekend, or was it super tuner tv? ANyway, supposedly the r33(?) v6 powered GTI (can't think what the hell it is!) is coming to the states. I think it's got 240 hp's. Can anybody help me out?

 

Wrong engine.

The 2.7l V6 twin turbo does not fit the A4 chassis (Beetle/Golf/S3/Jetta/etc.)

The S3 had a 215hp version of the Audi TT's 1.8T along with 4 Motion 4wd.

I saw one in Spain a couple years ago and it was HOT.

What it really needed was a turbo VR6 under the hood (it would have fit).

 

yup S3, it actually pumps out more than 215 in the current models
and they are up for remake soon after the GTI. Always have been nice cars, and I don't understand how come they don't make it to the U.S., since the GTI is here.

 

oh and another very nice coupe that doesn't make it here
the Alfa Romeo 147, very nice in and out.

 

yup the S3 has a 1.8liter K04 turbo motor
Not a S4
I think it may be twin intercooled also
