idk man...it just kinda says to me "I'm too cheap to buy a 911."
Too much time listening to Hammond, Brett - maybe it was true in 2003 when he said it, but it's come a long way... the car in the OP is definitely a Porsche.
Yeah the 2003 model I wouldn't consider at all. But this, the new one, is a true Porsche. Also, too cheap? At ($61,800 MSRP), this ain't cheap

A neighbor of mine has a Boxster Spyder. Make no mistake about it... that is definitely a "real" Porsche. It's always amusing to me that people who don't even own Porsches believe that the Boxster is the poor man's 911. For many reasons, some people actually prefer the layout of the Boxster or Cayman. If you're dropping $60-$70K (which is what the Boxster would end up being with a reasonable option package) on a car, you can afford a 911 too.

I'd rather a nice used Gen 2 Cayman S over a similarly priced 911.

Most of the people I know that have said diminutive statements regarding the Boxster have never test driven one. IMHO it is near perfection.

Put me in the Boxster/Cayman S camp before 911 (unless it's a GT3).

Boxsters are good, but seeing a 911 when you're in one has to hurt.

If we are talking convertible then no, the water cooled 911 convertibles just don't look right. Ever since the move from the air cooled cars I think the 911 just doesn't look as good as the Cayman.
