Ouch!!

I saw that exact thing happen to a 911 when I was a kid. Sucks for the owner, but I thought it was hilarious at the time.

What do expensive body panels have to do with a car falling off a lift?

Ouch!

How did the Elise fall off the lift? It's a mid-engined car, so the weight distribution should not be too far off (front-to-rear). Maybe just becuz careless techs?

It's tricky to lift.

First, it's 38/62 weight distribution.

Second, the only obvious jack point on each side is right at the balance point. This is to be used if you're jacking one side of the car only, as it lifts both front and rear wheel. If you lift it at this point on both sides it'll be at the balance point, and as soon as you take off the front wheels...

To properly four-wheel lift it, you need to remove the rear diffuser and access the jack points back there.
