i'm new to this whole negotiating the price of a car that had damage thing.. so i'm just wondering if anyone has any info that i could use?

it's a 2000 S4. it's on ebay.. buy it now is at 19500.
the car is in North Carolina, and i'm in Wisconsin..but that's another story..

I'm too lazy to look at the book value on the car, but that's a great way to give him a "fair" offer. I'd take anywhere between $500-$1000 off the price, depending on how well it was repaired.

When I was trading in my 2001 S2000, I found out one side of it had been repainted (I didn't know this when I bought it). Carfax said nothing, all body panels we're original, so it was probably repainted due to vandalism. Every dealer I brought it to, except for one, offered me $5k less than blue book for it, which was around 25% less than the value. Carmax almost didn't even take it. I would seriously reconsider buying a damaged car since you never know if you'll have a hard time getting rid of it.
