"I coulda had a Ferrari!"
Why would anyone who is looking for a supercar choose an LFA over this??

Car Magazine, the British publication, made the same observation about the Lexus not being a good value. Part of the reason is that Lexus elected to do much of the manufactering development--i.e., the carbon weaves, etc.--in-house. Switching from aluminum to carbon body panels also drove up costs.
People may also soon say that the Ferrari 458 Italia does not offer good value for money once the new McLaren MP4-12C is on the market.

If value wasn't factored into the equation, then that would indicate that supercar prices are inelastic implying that manufacturers could charge whatever they wanted, or at least more than what they are charging these days.
I just don't see the appeal of the LFA aside from this collectibility, don't care if they built everythign in house, that just means they built it alongside with toyotas and regular lexuses. I'd almost prefer them say the engine was tuned by Ferrari, chassis by lotus, penned by pinifarina, etc etc.
