Sounds like they are serious, maybe they should offer both engines. An enlarged V6 as the honda version, and the V10 for the Acura version.

something doesn't sound right. Magazine front page torn off. No other identifying trademarks beside the cover? No one else have seen such magazine. no other magazine printed such an interview. Pretty landmark interview IMO. New poster with 21 posts. Translating from Japanese to Chinese to English (why does he have to do that? I speak 3 languages and I just translate directly - no need to use an intermediate language). Dunno, seems awfully fishy.

 

I guess hi revving v-10s have reliablity issues? Humm interesting.

Whether the article is to be believed or not, Honda will NOT pass the opportunity to make a supercar in the future, for some of these reasons: 1) Toyota and Nissan are about to make their high-end sports cars. Honda will not sit aside and not do anything about it. 2) Honda would like to have a high-end sports car in its lineup as a halo car, whether it makes money or not. 3) Honda is more than capable to produce a high-end sports car since it's one of the best engine producers/suppliers of race engines, and its production engines are not too shabby either (small but not shabby).

 

For those of us that can't afford one brand new, we'll just have to wait a couple years and get a used one. I don't see how they can make a car that great and not charge at least 120K. Seems like this a very great time for automotive enthusiasts, cars just keep getting better and better. Too bad only Jay leno can afford them all .

I too agree that the article is most likely made up bullshit. A lot of people *want* a new NSX -- but you have to figure if they could have done it they would have by now instead of letting the old one rot on the vine so long it became an embarassment.

 

Nope, not speaking for Honda. But this is Car Talk, and I'm voicing my opinions (that Honda would have many reasons to produce a supercar). In case you haven't noticed or heard, Honda tries very hard to stay competitive with Toyota in every step of the way for many years, in Japan and world-wide. If Toyota has definite plan to produce a supercar in the near future, you can bet that Honda is not gonna sit aside just looking at it.
