Isn't it weird how we always go s2000 to...
When we decided to sell an s2000 for another sporty car we always look at 4 vehicles..
1. sti
2. evo.
3. audi
4. bmw m3
LOL ..the world is so predictable..I mean even I am doing the same haha.
And 70 percent of us return to the s2000 sometime or another eh?
Just thought it was funny from what I have seen in the forum world.

^^ yup but thats the 70% that are coming back haha. Sigh..we never learn haha. Oh well. I need the space lol.
and its weird too. you can trade your 05 m3 or sti for an s2000 in a day..but when trying to trade the other way around LOL gl..all of a sudden this previous s2k owner with an m3 or sti...will not even think about trading straight up haha. The world is a laugh sometimes.

Obviously there are exceptions to that rule, but I think S2000 to one of the 4 cars you listed is a very common progression. Most of us have the S2000 when we don't need space or practicality, then decide for one reason or another we need a more practical car, but don't want to give up on the things that makes a car fun (quickness, driving feel and handling). Then we miss the S2000 and come back, lol.
I'm at a point now where the only way I'd come back to an S2000 is if I bought one as a 2nd car/track car though. In fact, after having had 2 AP2s in the past, I could see myself buying an older, high mileage AP1 sometime down the road that I don't fret over that much and turning it into a dedicated track and autocross machine, which is really what the S2000 is all about.

Yup, been there done that (S2000 -> STi -> S2000 CR (current))
I missed mine too much and couldn't get the same feel I wanted out of any other car. I think the other important point to mention is the price range... you can find cars that feel similar to an S if you're willing to spend the money, but if you're wanting to stay around the same price point or go just slightly higher, there are only so many options... most of which won't have the same feel as the S.

S2000 to an Audi A5 Cab.
It was really a S2000/Acura TL downsizing to an A5 cab. I miss the S2000 a little bit, it wasn't meant for my town's roads, but the TL I don't miss at all. The only complaint I had with the S2000 was driving it with the top up (noise, visibility, comfort) the A5 is much better for that. As far as sportiness, the A5 is lacking but, I have two other vehicles for that role (bike, vette). I doubt if I'd get another S, as great as it was, I'm looking Boxster or 911 cab next which is more due to my age than anything negative about the S.

Good list: Former S2000 owner who has also own/owned a Cayman S, Lotus Elise, M3, and cross shopped an Evo/Sti. I think I will buy a cheap AP1 sometime for a track car. I miss not having a vert.
Also people that have graduated from one of these cars to get into an S.
