I can't believe you can get 400hp in a 33k car. I'm trying to think of anything comparable. Dare I say I even like the interior. The wheels suck, but still.

The Mustang is almost as quick for $25K.

I personally like the look of the 05' GTO better than the new Mustang (the hood scoops & dual exhaust are good improvements). The interior is nicer too. I agree with you on the rims, but then that is what the aftermarket is for. They already have a supercharger kit for the 04's putting out 500 hp, I would expect the 05 version to be about 550+ hp. NICE.

I could kind of see the older enthusiast crown buying these up though since memories of orginal GTOs were around in their time.

But if the 04 models didn't work to well at selling will the 05s with the xtra ponies etc? hmmm it will be interesting.

I've seen a few '04 GTOs and I saw a new '05 on the road the other day. The '05 sounded really nice and the visual changes are welcomed, albeit it's still a bland car. I would get one over a mustang just because it wouldn't be nearly as common.

The GTO has the Z06 motor, if I'm not mistaken, so it should be capable of at least high 12's.

I heard it can be had for $26K after discounts and incentives. For that price, nothing beats it in speed. But it is way too bland in my opinion.
