Default Jaguar to pull out of F1.

What a shame. Even though they were non-competitive they are a recognized name. One less team in F1. Ford sux.

This has even greater impact than just Jag-- Minardi and Jordan were both counting on Ford subsidised engines next year.

Ford Motorsports in general is looking very shakey right now, as of right now they haven't commited to their WRC program for next year. That is a real shame because there at least they have had some success.

VAG is too smart to piss $200M a year into a blackhole with nothing to show other than a couple of F1 posters. Maybe Ford's pull out will be a wake up call to the other manufacturers that the ROI just isn't there given the existing cost structure.

Maybe every manufacturers who makes cars for the mass market will pull out. Then all that will be left is Michael Schumaker turning uncontested victory laps.

This is a chance for Caddy/GM to show that they are indeed 'World Class'

Not surprised about Jag, they took a program that was on the upswing (Stewart) and immediately turned it into a perennial cellar dweller. I think 03 was their most successful, but didn't they have one year where they finished behind Minardi in team points? Not the kind of results you want to associate with a marquis name.

Cosworth is also for sale.

Cosworth is the engine supplier to:

- Jordan and Minardi in F1
- Chevy teams in IRL
- all the Champ Car teams

The Jaguar program was a Joke. In F1 Toyota is only other Pathetic program.

I guess Ford will focus on NASCRAP and Craftman truck series.
