jeep liberty renegade has VTEC engine?!?!
they just showed a commercial for that can on TV, and unless i heard wrong, the car has a VTEC engine in it?? what the hell?? first the saturn, and now the jeep??
Uh, like the other poster worte, you heard wrong: the Liberty *RENEGADE* uses a 3.7 liter Powertech V6, not a Honda product. Strange that you can log onto this forum and ask here, but cannot go to Jeep's website and see for yourself

This the commercial with the exploding mountain? Yeah, that's a Powertech engine. GM has the Vortec, Ford has Ecotec, Honda has the VTEC... *shrug*

who cares who was first to use three letters? Ford has used the Ecotec name since at least 1988, same with GM's Vortec. Honda didn't import a car to the US using VTEC until 1990 in the NSX.
