Just curious in your minds how one stacks up to the other in reputation and wow factor.
Some things I think about
Ferrari has the racing heritage
Lamborghini is/was known as being more RAW
Ferrari is the nice car you take home to Mom and Lamborghini is the wild slut you are screwing.
So if someone offered you to drive (not model specific) a Ferrari or Lamborghini which would excite you more?

Lamborghini=big depreciation
Ferrari=Going up in value.
I'll take a new Ferrari, sell it, and buy ten other cars.
If I had to keep it, RWD>AWD for fun, so I'd rather have an F430 than a Gallardo.

What Ferrari looks cooler than a Lambo Murcielago out on the road. Ferrari's look classier but the Lambos just have that WOW factor. I dont think anybody on here is stupid enough to turn down any car from either makes.

Depends what my intentions are.
To get an overall satisfying driving experience, I'd choose the Ferrari. I'd also rather own one since it's one of my goals in life is to have a Ferrari. They don't seem to depreciate nearly as fast either.
Only downsides I can think of is the reliability (which seems they are progressively getting better with). Also the fact that they add an absurd $100k markup to their cars! They're just getting a bit too expensive now for an "entry level" pass into the company.
To get the awe factor from 98% of the population that knows $**t about automobiles or to get some extra action from the women, it'd have to be the Lambo. The crazy styling, the name dropping in pop culture, and just the fact it seems more exotic seems to attract most people to the Lambo.
If money weren't an issue...I'd definitely take the Ferrari. It just has much more heritage, has classic lines, and is much more focused in their execution.
Without having an infinite amount of money...the entry level Gallardo almost undercuts the Ferrari by almost half...HALF! Let's see, $175k for a new Gallardo with $125k left in my account, or $300k for an F430 that I'd have to wait at least a year for...

I think both have similar wow factor generally, though Ferraris will have more wow factor for true car fans (unless you're talking a Miura or 350GT). Ferrari is of course the more storied marque, though I think Lambo has been making serious efforts over the last 5 years to change their expensive toy image.
If it were me buying, with a budget of up to a million, I might choose a Murch over a Ferrari, especially if I'm not hitting the track often. If I were hitting the track I'd get an F430 or 599 GTB-F. If I had to choose between the Gallardo and F430, F430 every time. I see so many Gallardos now that it's wow factor is pretty thin for me.
From what I've seen, Lambo drivers tend to be older and more reserved. Ferrari drivers seem to be younger. Not a hard and fast generalization, but this is just what I've noticed.
For me the decision depends on what price level we're talking. As for Lambo resale prices, they are probably dropping quicker than Ferrari's, but it ain't like you're going to be able to go out and get Gallardos under $100k. Lambos will defintely not hold their value as much though.
