If it is Top Gear it is probably British. So I'll go a late 90s Lotus Esprit.

Isn't there to much going on with that rear wing for that to be a late 90s Espirit?

Yes. My initial guess was a modern MG or some other small mid engine car, but I had to take a dump so I went with the Lotus.
