Come over to clublexus.com and I am sure you will find the info you seek.
Some owners over at clublexus are getting pretty good deal on the IS350 in the LA area, some bought it for 4000 off MSRP

Why is this car in such demand ? It is an even lamer (as a drivers car) effort at a sport sedan compared to the 300 IMO. I would choose the 330i over any iteration of the new IS, heck I would even jump in a base 325i before the IS.
Because some people do not like beemers and prefer to own cars that are trouble free and only need to be taken in for a oil change.

I second that. I like bmw's but I don't think I would ever want to own one just because of their maintenance records/problems. The new is to me though is very nice. Never liked the is300 though it was not that sporty or fast for that matter.

The IS350 is a very desirable luxury sedan, IMO. Not as a "driver's car" but as a daily driver. If all I wanted was comfort and modern conveniences I'd have picked the IS over my 330i. And yes, Lexus has a much better reliability rep than BMW.

Is it me or does this new IS look a lot like a slight improvement of the Pontiac G6? Even so the old IS looked much Better.

I love the new IS. It is my second favorite car just behind BMW 5-series.

People like this are a key point in the fact that these forums are but a shell of they used to be. I guess you probably pick up an S2000 used for 10K now, and look at the fluff it brings in.

Keep justifying that 330 purchase... god, I am so happy I passed on that thing, I'd be so unhappy.
