^it could easily be a different car rocking modded LS bodywork...?
Realistically, I can't imagine lexus rocking that kind of aggressive bodywork in a production vehicle; it's too much of a departure this soon.

I think it looks awesome. But I'm a massive fan of flared wheel arches. Maybe they're going for an M5 killer. >8)
just like they made a m3 killer in the is-f?
you know the current IS-F (with the LSD and new suspension) is just as fast as the M3, while sporting a substantially lower price tag and 50% better fuel economy, right?

Here are the C&D's Lightning Lap 2011 lap times :

RS4 - 3:11.2
S4 - 3:10.6
Mustang GT 5.0 - 3:08.6
E63 - 3:06.8
C63 - 3:06.5
Cayman S - 3:05.8
Carrera S - 3:05.8
M3 - 3:05.4
2011 ISF - 3:05.4
CTS-V coupe - 3:04.0
GTR - 2:55.6
[/quote]

Plus you can get them for $37-40k with 10-20k miles on them, for an '08 at least. I'd take one of those over an M3, especially since it'll be 50x more reliable and much easier to fix and work on. And gets far better gas mileage.

Only thing I dislike is that it's auto only, but for $40k it's a pretty awesome car.

The IS-F went through a bunch of changes from 2008 until now. Every single year something was altered or changed in the interior or exterior. I'd probably go for 2011 and up considering it was the most advanced.

Yes i know the newer IS-F is a lot better. Only is-f i drove was the 08 and i hated it. i would never buy a 08 cpo even if it was given to me. I have heard tho that the '10 and '11 are much better. Id have to drive it to see.

Price tag is almost the same depending on how you option it out. Also when i look at $60k+ cars the last thing i check is the fuel economy lol.
The M3 imho is a better all around car in every way. I liked driving it way more than the is-f. In my eyes only the c63 is a legitimate contender. But that IMHO. Not everyone loves every car.

Auto only disqualifies the car for me though. But if your comparing it to the dct M3 or auto c63 than i can see the comparison.

But give me a manual e90 M3 any day over the is-f or c63

price tag= not the same if you're talking comparably equipped. The M Coupe is $59k and the IS-F runs about $60.5k. But the F is essentially fully loaded at that price. Fully load an M3 and you're talking 15-20% more expensive, plus a gas guzzler tax, etc.

why would you compare the m coupe to the is-f? you would compare the e90 m3 (sedan). Which is abut $4000 cheaper plus are available at great deals from many dealers.

Hmmm would be really sick is they used the V10 from the LFA. Besides that I would be shocked if it came close to competing with the S63/65. Those are just monster cars and unless lexus has been developing some twin turbo v12 we don't know about then it will probably be closer to an M5.

I like it. It shows that Toyota is getting into the performance arena.
