Default Looking for some advice for a new car

Hey guys,

I have a 2006 S2K and I'm getting to a point in my life where I'm needing a second car. The S2000 isn't cutting it when it comes to driving around my girlfriend with both our dogs, plus any additional crap we may need.

Basically, I'm looking for something roomy enough to be able to go on trips with the GF and our dogs, but with enough power and sportiness to where I can feel more at home in something worth driving. A manual transmission is also a necessity.

So far, I've been considering a few wagons, such as an A4 avant, Volvo V70R, WRX wagon, etc., but I'm thinking that a sedan may suffice as well. I'm a sucker for wagons though, so I'm just unsure. I usually wouldn't post something like this, because I can come to decisions by myself, but I just want to see if anyone can throw out some suggestions I may be forgetting, or offer me some feedback to the cars I am interested in. Thanks alot!

I'd get a wagon. I really like wagons, and the A4 Avant & Volvo V70R would be near the top of my list. I'd substitute the Legacy for the WRX, though and add the Mazda 3. It's too bad that BMW doesn't offer the 335 or M3 in wagon form.

What's your budget? You coud probably fit medium sized dogs into the back of a 911

New STI. Steering is kind of lame but aside from that it's an awesome drive.

Mazdaspeed3?

I don't know much about them but they're suppose to be cheap and fun.

I'd steer away from more luxurious hatches, as your dogs will destroy the interior regardless of how you try to keep it clean.

I might give up on sportiness and get something like a Honda element. You can easily clean the insides, and you won't care if the kennels or whatever scratches the inside.
