This must be the port injected motor from the Camry, RX350, Avalon, Rav4, etc. The direct injected version makes 306hp in the IS350. If it's pulling 280hp, then it's a slighly uncorked version of the aforementioned vehicles.

Supposedly weighs the same as a Cayman S, puts out slightly less power than a Cayman S, mid-engined like a Cayman S, for more money than a Cayman S. I guess it does look hot, but it's kind of disappointing when you're supposed to buy a Lotus for looks instead of performance.

I've read somewhere that Lotus was aiming at 2500lbs. Lotus could easily tune that engine to produce 300+ horsepower.

Yeah I read the same thing elsewhere.. I'm a little disappointed that Lotus didn't stick to their super-lightweight formula. And I don't have high expectations from a Lotus 'luxury' interior.

Indeed, this is a departure from Lotus ideals of light weight and small engines. I guess we'll have to see.
