M3 E92 Dyno chart
I got this from the m3post, an owner of the E92 m3 posted this dyno test of his M3 result, nothing new about the numbers, but I am amazed to see how flat that torque curve is.
That's why BMW M cars never feel as fast as they really are. There's no ''VTEC spike'' in power. Very linear acceleration.
The more I have experience with different types of sports cars, the more I learn to love and appreciate BMW M engines.
I said it before and I'll say it again, my old S54 M Coupe had a GEM of an engine. Power down low, up high, etc....
BMW M may not be ''pure'' anymore, but dammit they know how to make engines for enthusiasts.

BMW really does know how to make a good motor. The N54 is the same way- it is so much faster than it feels because the torque curve is so fat with barely a whiff of turbo lag. I prefer an engine with a more peaky powerband, just because I find it more fun (I'm not a racer, I'm a driver), but I will give respect where respect is due!

Great to see but I prefer a nice spike just because it's more fun to feel the kick.
