I'm curious to see how well the new M3 CSL will fair. 7:22 is very impressive though.

dude. how much does a CSL weight? Something just doesn't seem right about that time for an unmodded car...like, for example, that the Zonda F ran 7:27 in another current thread. So I guess the real question is "what has been done to the car" as opposed to "has there been any work done on the car".

faster than CGT, GT3, Koenigsegg CCR, Zonda F, et al. one minute faster than E46 M3?
something doesn't sound right.

after looking at list, I saw that, the M3 is faster than Walter Rohrl in a GT3. Hmmm....
7:42 - Porsche 997 GT3, 415 PS/1440 kg, Walter R

Last I read it was a supercharged M# making about 567hp and weighing in at 3156 +/- a few pounds. They said that the handling is where it probably shaved the most time seeing as it shouldn't be able to outrun the Pagani on the straights.

That isnt a stock M3. It is heavily modded by LOADED.

A E92 M3 CSL is still in the early-development stages. I'm hoping they can shave an excess of 250lb+ off the car. It wont be outrageously priced like the last CSL's. If a new M3 starts are 60k, I'd expect the CSL to run 85k+.

Time will tell just how good the hard-edged, lighter, more powerful M car will be.
