manual vs. auto
For you manual owners, do you ever get tired of shifting all the time? Do your legs hurt and get lazy somtimes? If you were to go back, would you choose auto? (not s2000 obviously)
Actually I think you're full of shit, but to be true, both AT and MT have their place. If I could only have one thing it would be a real MT. I have full use of my arms and legs and no they don't get tired shifting a friken transmission.
Kid you should try real work if you think shifting makes you tired.
However I have AT cars also and sometimes I like to sit back and relax and not have to worry about shifting and the AT cars are fine.

I guess I am going to stray from the pack here....and say this....
I dont believe ANYONE wants manual trannys in ALL situations. Maybe you guys in the midwest dont have any serious traffic, but for us big city folk, manual can get VERY tiresome. I got stuck in 2 hour bumper to bumper traffic (moved about 1 mile uphill) and thanked god 100 times that I was driving my RL. I hate getting stuck in traffic in my s2000. Sure manual has its place, but to say automatics suck is crazy IMHO.
I would NEVER have a manual daily driver. (assuming I can afford to have 2 cars)

My beater is a full size pickup with an AT. I'll drive it instead of the S if I know I'm going to be stuck in stop-and-go. The S is a pain when you spend an hour below 15 MPH.
MTs are fun in the right cars in the right situations. There's nothing fun about rowing the gears in a truck with 2 foot shifter throws and a clutch designed by Charles Atlas.

ide always choose a MT over an AT. but i honestly believe that i would want an AT commuter car. i mean.. it is so much easier to just sit back and relax and only worry about gas and brake when you are in heavy traffic or when you are just too lazy to worry about the clutch. although for driving on the backroads or just driving around for fun, MT all the way! good thing i have an AT BMW at home incase i get lazy. (btw, might be purchasing an AP1 later today!!!)
