mass air flow sensor question
On my dodge spirit (don't laugh) i just wana put something simple like making my own cold air intake. do i need to replace my mass air flow sensor for it to make any difference? and how much would it cost?

On Honda cars they use MAP sensor instead of mass airflow sensor.
Manifold Apsolute Pressure sensor senses density of the air entering the combustion chamber.
So on any case you don't need to fool with MAP sensor for your custom cold air project.

Hah! No experience with MAFs... this is NOT the place for the question, regardless, check the rules at the top of the page.
You should not need to replace the MAF unless it is a restriction. Simply craft a cold air intake and attach it to the MAF. You might have to get a flange adaptor for it, though, depending on if it is a flange-type or clamp type (not sure what Dodge uses).
Look at the MAF, though, you might want to replace it with a larger bore one if the actual inleft for the air is significantly smaller than the intake tract or throttle body. Check with some Dodge/Shelby boards for more info. You also might find that the engine in there is very similar to other Dodge models and hit boards for those models.
