So the Lincoln rice boy company is the same as the company that made the F1 supercar? Car and Driver said otherwise. And are the Mclaren F1 race car people the same as the Mclaren F1 supercar people?

Phi2k is right, these appear to be separate companies, but sharing the same founder (Bruce McLaren). Whilst McLaren Performnace built the Can Am engines, they used Ford and Alfa in F1 during the early 70s.
Nowadays, as we know, they use Mercedes-Benz hardware and DaimlerChrysler own 40% of McLaren F1. McLaren Performance does a lot with DaimlerChrysler's major competitors, GM and Ford.

Mclaren F1 and supercar are from the same company. Yes indeed. [/QUOTE
Well then....that makes my Caravan a Mclaren too.....
TAG McLaren Group, which consist of small companies such as McLaren International, which runs the F1 team, and McLaren Cars, which built or is building the McLaren F1 and the MB SLR, (as well as TAG Electronics Systems, TAG McLaren Marketing, McLaren Composits..BUT...no McLaren Performance Technologies ) was formed by Mclaren F1 Team Principal Ron Dennis and TAG Group S.A.'s Mansour Ojjeh, which is now owned partly by DaimlerChrysler, which built the famous Caravan before the Daimler A.G./Chrysler Corporation merger....
Yes, McLaren Engines (now McLaren Performance) was established by Bruce McLaren as an engine builder, who founded Bruce McLaren Motor Racing Ltd in 1963...it doesn't make them the builder of the McLaren F1 supercar nor the F1 race car...

No, I think you are confused. There is only one McLaren. The company has joint efforts with other car makers, but in no way is your Cavaran a McLaren in any way or aspect. Just like the Honda Odessey is not designed by the Honda Racing Development team, any collaboration between McLaren and Chrysler/Mercedes doesn't necessarily mean a joint development effort on all models. Come on, swells65 was clearly not stating that a Caravan was a McLaren. Don't confuse the issue any further.

Check out their respective web sites for confirmation. McLaren Performance recognises McLaren F1 but their is no other relationship today.
McLaren International (the F1 team) did build the supercar (also called the F1) in the UK using a BMW engine as it's base powerplant.
Bruce McLaren Motor Racing Ltd morphed into McLaren International which later became part of TAG.
There is a clear distinction between any US modified Lincoln etc to the Gordon Murray designed car.
http://www.mclaren-paragon.com/ is the web site and you will see McLaren Cars that is not McLaren Performance (!) and McLaren International that is the F1 team.
