Default Mini Cooper

Now that its been out for awhile now, I wanted to see if there was any firsthand feedback out there on it. Feedback/advice I'm looking for is along the lines of:

Is it a good daily driver?
Mileage
Reliability
Maintenance
Worth the extra $ to get the "S" trim?

Responses that would help one make a decision to buy or not are welcomed and appreciated.

the "S" is more than trim... it comes with a supercharger...

I test drove a Mini S, was a lot of fun but not very fast. If I needed a new car I would certainly consider it.
I liked it much better than the new 350Z(track model) that was a major let down and I love Nissans

Well, the Mini Cooper S isn't lightning quick, but it was all over my ass through some backroad twisties in my area. I mean right on my ass.

Good price too.

You should check with mgiang7 on this board, he's our honorary member in mid-atlantic.

My friend was considering buying just last week... he called a few dealers that we know
is willing to sell the "S" for MSRP... all of them quoted a 8-10 months wait...

He called Long Beach of CA, Utah (Salt Lake), and one dealer from TX....

I'm also considering getting a MCS. Have you been to this site yet to ask questions or read up? It's almost as good as this forum!

Everyone - Thanks so much for the feedback.

tidalwave - Thanks for the link, I'm checking it out.

Da Hapa - I take it the "freeway" opinion was based more on fun factor; or are there some issues you saw with it on the freeway?
