My old work truck was too smooth, quiet, and comfortable.

GM making investments in next Gen V8. That said, they never produced a worthy TRX/Raptor competitor

Haha! Yeah, I guess my track record isn't too good on keeping cars besides the C6 and Caddy.

I am very interested in the Gen VI V8 from GM and I'm sure they'll improve on the LT4 supercharged engine, but they have yet to throw that grade of engine into a pick-up yet as you mention, Bullwings. If they make a legit competitor to the Raptor R and TRX, I'd very seriously consider it as I really do prefer GM trucks overall. I just like the way they drive and feel a little better. They've always been very reliable for me as well.

Anyway, in the meantime, I haven't gotten rid of the Raptor yet.

Sounds awesome too. That DOHC cam type V8 sound with a nice supercharger overlay sound. It's nice.
The DOHC coyote engines sure are sweet! It's a Coyote variant I think which are very reliable and solid engines and like to rev. Given GM's recent issues with their V8's Ford trucks seem like the better choice. Definitely nuts for a truck to make this much power but I'm a big fan of the Coyote based engines.

I am not a full size truck guy, but it looks cool. Enjoy the new whip!

Installed an Airaid filter and removed the stock airbox cover. Less than $80 and it sounds great:

Does sound great!

I am getting used to the quietness of the 2017 Tundra I just picked up. Our 13 Tacoma has a TRD exhaust and K&N intake so makes a bit more noise. Debating if I get something that sounds a little better in the Tundra or just leave it the hell alone like I should, use it for towing and hauling and enjoy having one quiet car to drive

Thanks and it has the exhaust valves, so you can make it quiet. I did the video in Baja mode which is the loudest exhaust mode. And, at mild throttle, you don't hear the blower whine, of course.

I did a mild Magnaflow muffler on my old '13 LX570 and it gave it a nice V8 exhaust tone without being over the top at all. You could actually tell it was an 8 cylinder versus the stock muffler. So, maybe something along those lines would be a good balance? It's pretty cheap too if you find a decent muffler shop.

That is what I am thinking on mine. Just making it sound like a truck, but not going nuts on it. Same engine as the LX570.

Yep, the 5.7 Toyota motor muffler is WAY too quiet. You can barely tell it's a V8. I did just a muffler swap and the LX has a resonator after the muffler and I left that on, so it was still a pretty mild V8 sound, but at least it had some sound and volume. I'm not sure the Tundra has the resonator, but regardless, a muffler will definitely give it better sound and still not be obnoxious on longer drives.
