As much as I loved this car when I was visiting in London, it looked perfect, size and shape because so many of the other cars their are pretty small so it didn't look like so much of a toy that it does here in Texas where everyone drives massive pick up trucks, I just could never drive that care here without being nervous on the road, hell I feel that way in the S sometimes too.

What cracks me up about this car is it makes you see how the S2000 really does have a lot of nice features in it. Everyone looks at the S2000 like it's this bare bones car. Once you sit in a Lotus you really understand what that statement means.
What do you mean? The only ammenities my S2000 have that my Elise don't have are the power top and power side mirrors.

For an 05 without sport pack and 21,XXX miles I'd guess he paid mid to high 20's maybe 30 flat. These cars are definitely NOT going to appreciate. I think they will bottom out around mid 20's though as most people will be able to afford them at that price until they realize they can't afford to maintain them or fix them when they have an issue in which case a few will be dumped off again just like when they first came out.

Don't know much about tranny, but the shifter in those are horrible.
The only thing I hate about the Elise/Exige.

Dan
Did you do the shifter re-inforcement mods on yours yet? Makes a world of difference. Check LotusTalk for more info. The shifter isn't as good as the S2000 but a lot better than many sports cars out there.

Now that is a sports car for 2010+

We need more cars like these. NOT 500hp 4000 pound 14mpg cars brought back from the dead.
DITTO.

Sick to death of all the so-called "sports cars" that are well over 3000 lb!

Are you sure about that? I get about 20 mpg on the street and about 13 on the track. If your'e not going to drive it hard, what's the point? It makes for a crappy cruiser and street car. The only way this car will get 30 MPG is cruising at 55 mph on the highway with a hardtop on. It's geared like a S2000, 80 mph in 6th gear is right at 4,000 RPM.

Also as far as cornering flat.....not so much and I have sport pack with a large aftermarket front sway bar set to nearly full stiff. Does that look very flat to you? The car is very nimble but the spring rates are way too soft, it has plenty of body roll.

You need to think historically. The S2000 "was" the Lotus when it came out... considered bare bones street race car. All the BMW guys were like.. but.. but.. it wont warm your buttox with fancy seats!
