Sold my s2k a couple of months ago and just wanted to share my new ride. I love it in every way. I can't stop driving the thing! It's an 03 and it only had 16k miles on her. She's bone stock but I added a magnaflow catback exhaust. I have a few minor mods I'm gona do. But she will stay mainly stock.

Nice find. Blue is my favorite color for this car and I like the wingless trunk.

16k miles 03 evo?! what a gem find, how much did you pay for her?

"Blue By You" in that condition is a unicorn!! I hope you keep the modifications minimal as they aren't that clean anymore. That color was only available from 03-04.

Does the Intercooler Sprayer work? :)

Mr.60trim 09-17-2016 07:00 PM

Redline is only at 7k...Take it back, it's broken

Yep it works . Mods are gona be kept super minimum. Getting an ets intake and ets catted downpipe. Taking it to Evans for tuning on stock boost. That would be all for mods

JonBoy 09-17-2016 08:07 PM

Great car - a total blast to drive. Interior and looks aren't that great but when you're driving, you don't really care. One of the rawest stock vehicles I've ever been in.

rnye 09-17-2016 08:16 PM

Nice find and incredible condition. Keep it in a bubble.. Can't be many left like that

berlinablackie 09-18-2016 03:23 AM

Great find, I'm sure you'll enjoy.
Very clean!

EastS2k 09-18-2016 01:01 PM

it's going to appreciate in value if you keep it fairly stock, wouldn't be surprised if you flipped it for 30k in a couple of years.

My heavy modding days have been long gone. I added a magnaflow catback. I'm purchasing a stock oem wing for it next week. The previous owner told me the car is still on the stock timing belt. A 13 yr old belt doesn't sit well with me. So next week I have an appointment for a timing belt change along with all new fluids. Next yr I'm adding the ets air filter kit and a ets catted test pipe. Getting tuned on stock boost. That will be it for mods. That seems pretty bare bones.

fusionchickenleg 09-18-2016 09:06 PM

I think a downpipe and custom tune with higher boost should still be super reliable, just don't launch the car too much. Just make sure your tuner tunes for partial throttle and not just WOT, and you log / monitor your engine's air fuel ratio. Downpipe / tune will transform the car

Congratulations on finding a clean sample of a BBY Evo...have lots of fun in the coming colder months, these cars really wake up in terms of power in colder weather

Josh08 09-19-2016 05:43 AM

The car gets put away in the winter haha. No snow no rain lol

Nice! Always loved the Evo 7-9 - much better looking than the 10, IMO. Great color too :)

WolfpackS2k 09-28-2016 04:42 AM

Congrats on the purchase!

Is this an RS model? I never see any of those out in the wild, and I thought that was the only model that came without a wing.

The owner decided to go wingless. The spoiler that he gave me wasn't the evo spoiler. Apparently a smaller spoiler was also an option. I bought an actual evo spoiler and am getting it installed today

You're still in the honeymoon phase. I give it 5 months and you'll start missing the s2000, especially when Spring rolls around.

superchargedk20 01-27-2017 04:12 PM

Going to Jeff Evans March 25th to get her tuned

blueprint 01-27-2017 06:35 PM

You should consider swapping the tail lights for Evo 9 lights and perhaps adding a front lip to give it a more aggressive stance.

TofuProductions 02-01-2017 10:06 AM

I had an 04 evo 8 for a little while... it was a little pocket rocket for sure, but the crank walk in the end...

Enjoy it man, rare color! :)

Next update we see is Cams, Injectors, E85 and bigger turbo. :)

haha no. People said the same thing on here about my s2k.I'm keeping her as is because this is a unicorn evo. Doubt anyone can find an evo with 16k miles with very small mods. Got my tune with Evans next month and I'll be done with mods. I'm buying a new sti soon as well.

why don't u like it? My buddy has a 2015 WRX and loves it. It's not a decent DD?

TommyDeVito 02-09-2017 04:38 PM

The WRX is, the STI not so much. Fragile engine in the STI. WRX has a new motor. The EJ is ancient and just isn't as robust as the EVO motors.

I get that , but I want a stock sti. I'm not modding it. Is it not reliable in Stock form ?

rwheelz 02-13-2017 06:18 PM

It is more reliable with a proper tune that it is in stock form. I completely disagree with "fragile engine" though. My 2008 STI took a beating as well as anything out there.

Nice, I miss my 03 Evo as well. I sold it to pick up my 94 supra. About 4-5 years ago I picked up a 09 STi and a bearing spun within the first week due to oil starvation I think. The dealer wouldn't tell me if it was the oil or not. They ended up replacing the entire motor plus turbo. From experience, the newer STi has always had issues with ring failures. Subaru know its a problem but wont actually fix it going into the new generations.

So, I went to my mechanics today for an oil change and he started making fun of the tiny down pipe. Sooooo, we ordered one. He tried getting me to get an o2 housing as well, but I turned it down..

280 whp and 312 tq. Unfortunately a few complications arose, I'm hoping for a retune soon

superchargedk20 04-11-2017 12:31 PM

So guys ran into some issues after being tuned . The stock fuel pump was losing pressure close to redline. So we installed a Walbro 255 pump and my mechanic had an old greddy bov lying around that he sold me for 40 bucks. We got that installed. Car ran fine but WOT it was a turd.
figured the fuel pump was just running dumb rich. So bring it to the tuner and I have a huge boost Leak. Ugh.
Drive back home and the bov is leaking. Get that fixed and car is running really damn good. Notice the CEL is blinking to indicate knock. Hook a wide band to it and Im running really lean. 13.0 in the higher rpms. So now I bought anew aem wide band and boost gauge and getting retuned on the 20th.

I'm pretty much done with mods. I might do a bigger intercooler down the road . But the car is quite fast now. I pulled quite easily on a modded newer sti . I might also pick up a 2017 sti as well. Prolly wont drive this car much if I go through with the purchase.

superchargedk20 04-20-2017 03:37 PM

It made exactly the same it did last time. The only reason I went up there was because when I put my fuel pump and greddy bov it screwed up my air fuels and I had a huge boost leak. The only good part is that I made some more on the top end thanks to adding the Walbro fuel pump. Here's my dyno comparing my 1st tune to today's tune. There pretty much the same, just the top end is a little better

Had a roommate that "shared" his 03 with me a lot. only had cat back, tune, and intake. Tuned by Vishnu. Got to meet him, Very cool guy. Car made over 300WHP.

That was one of the most fun cars I've driven. My only criticism on it was you ran out of RPM's really fast. Needed a 6th gear.

Enjoy, What a find!

Agreed. That's the only reason I sold my evo 10. No 6th gear made highway driving annoying.

I loved how they geared it though - they made the best of the 5 gears they had. 1-4 was really short and close together, and 5th was actually almost identical to the STi's 6th.

Hold the phone - the Evo 10 didn't have a 6-speed either on the non-MR?!
