My S2000 replacement, one year later
Almost a year ago I was involved in a major accident involving my 01 AP1 that I had for about 10 months. 64 year old tourist that had no idea where he was cut out in front of me and I t-boned him at about 50mph. He was driving a toyota 4runner and all he had to say was "I didnt see you". Both airbags deployed and the car was totalled.

It still hurts looking at these. I saved up since after I bought my first car when I was 15. A 1998 Integra, which I sold and finally had enough to buy the S2000 ive been wanting for years at only age 18. Really hate to be another statistic of a teenager totalling an S2000. I assure you I am more mature than that. After this I realized I have had my fix for speed and wanted the best overall car. 1 month after I purchase my 2009 Honda Fit sport 5 speed. Here it is with a few modifications I have already done.

This car is everything you could want for a $17k car. The EPA estimates for this car are an absolute joke. I have been getting 36mpg with AC on full blast and not trying. If I drive like a granny and hypermill a bit I can easily get it over 40. Driving like a maniac I cant get it lower than 30.
Although the car is slow as heck it is an absolute blast to drive. Steering is extremely responsive and the engine is really peppy in the higher rpms. The tires are the biggest detriment on the cars handling with only 185/55/16 tires. 205/50's do very well on the car. Even in stock form this car can out handle ANY car in its class. Not tons of body roll but its there. Lowering the car and bigger tires really plant this car on the ground. Brakes flat out suck.
There is nothing you cant fit in this car. The rear seats fold down flat giving you tons of room. The rear seat cushions also fold up giving you a "tall" setting which allows you to put taller objects in between the front and rear seats, and still be able to use the rear trunk.
In my opinion this is the BEST overall car for the price. Can you get something faster? Yes. But you will NOT find a car that will give you 35+mpg, unlimited cargo space, honda reliability, and be so much fun to drive. I highly recommend you guys test drive one to understand what I am talking about. Coming from an S2000 its pretty hard to compare to the drivability, but I am very impressed.
To compliment my perfect daily driver I am getting close to purchasing an early AP1 to mess around with on the weekends. IMO the Fit is the perfect offset for the S2000.
Anyways just wanted to share my experience with this car here in case anyone is in the same boat. There is a couple ex-S2K owners in the Fit forums. Let me know if you guys have any questions! Hope to own another S2000 one day.

fit... ugh. second to worse vehicle I've ever driven (right ahead of a toyota tacoma 4x4). granted I drove an auto with the stupid paddle shifters... but, it understeered everywhere, enough power to win a tug-a-war contest against an angered badger, brakes that felt like they were tickling the rotors into coercing them to stop.
just everything about the vehicle was crap. the only plus side was it had a USB port for a flash drive. I don't know why anyone would pick one over a yaris or a versa... aside from an aesthetics point of view, but even then that's completely hogwash cause the fit looks like someone left their mangled Odyesey in the dryer for too long. And considering you're defending your purchase, you have some issues with it as well.
tough break on the S2000... but least you're still around to tell the story. I know the feeling of losing a car you worked so hard for/on. I just give you mountains of credit for living day in/day out in a fit. I definitely do not have the patience or the inner strength to live with that for more than 3 days.
