Default My "where are they?" thread

So, where are they? Anyone know?

1. Wagons. I'd love to get rid of my SUV someday soonish for a nice, 4-cyl. wagon, but there are rather limited choices out there now (Subaru and VW are about all that come to mind). I'd love a Malibu 4-cyl. wagon with a 6-spd. auto, but no Malibu wagon is offered. Honda, Toyota, and Nissan all don't offer wagons. The new Mazda 6 isn't going to be offered in a wagon. I think lotsa people may be interested in losing their SUVs with $4.00/gallon gas, but where are the alternatives?

2. Mazdaspeed Miata. Will there be one? Is it coming out this fall?

3. Nissan 370Z. Is it coming out this fall?

What else?

1. Honda fit, toyota matrix, pontiac vibe, etc etc could all be considered wagons, although they are referred to as 5 door hatchbacks or something like that.

2. couldn't say, but judging by the 2008 autosalon pics, I wouldn't care if it never came out

3. 370z will be a 2010 model so next year sometime?

1. Impreza/STi + Mazda 3 + Volvos. No other wagons come to mind.

2. No clue

3. I don't think the 370z is coming out so soon. I imagine there'd be a whole slew of articles on this if this were the case. Thus far, it's been a pretty big success and would make a big headline.

I'm hoping to see the 370Z announcement at the LA Auto Show at the end of the year.

Shouldn't be too long if my uncle got his g37 months ago. I'd say sometime next year for the 370z.

The 07 z's are already significantly faster than previous models. A best friend of mine has an 06 and the 07's supposedly average half a second quicker in the quarter with consistent low 13's.

Naw. I'm talking about decent-sized wagons. Something that could reasonably serve as a replacement for a mid-size SUV. None of the those compact class 5-doors comes anywhere close. Think Malibu, Accord, Camry, Fusion, Altima, etc. wagons...
