Apparently it is closer to 7,000. I'd love to know this is actually measured.

are you saying that you would love to know HOW it is measured, or that THAT figured is a measured value not an estimate?

I'm confused. You are quoting zx-10, but I can't seem to find his original quote anywhere in this thread. Id that a quote from another thread?

What gives?
He must have deleted the original - the time stamp is 3:50p which would have put it between this post:

Do you regularly observe cars with coilovers going over certain curbs to see if they lift a wheel?
hahaha. I too have noticed that about the SRT4, and no, I wasn't sitting on a street corner with a pen and paper. lol.

However, that observation does not necessarily denote a stiff chassis. If your suspension has only a few inches of droop (rebound) travel, you can create the same effect and it doesn't necessarily denote that you have a stiff chassis.

There are few rally cars that you can get to "lift a wheel" in the manner described, but should we interpret that to mean that they have flimsy chassis? No freaking way. They just have a ton of droop travel.

ahh, Ninja edit. I too suspected I was losing my marbles as the most likely reason.

Another Miata vs. S2000 thread! Like this topic has not been beaten up enough?

ok...my 2 cents, owned two miata's , a 1990 and a 2001. Lots of fun, got me into the S2000. The miata is the best bang for the buck roadster out there, handles well, but next to my honda it is second place in the performance dept, and even in looks. Every day driver it also ranks second due to a real a/c that works, better brakes, all options for performance included/mods are not required to beat that minivan accross the intersection, superior seats, and a larger trunk.

Girls car, no....yes girls buy them and they buy S2000's as well, no more so. Perhaps a VW bug might be closer to a girly car, if there was one.

Handles the same and can keep up with the Honda...same driver, same road, different results, period. Look the stig put one in the rain up against the boxster and z4...as example.

Features, looks, these cars have gone in two directions, the miata has evolved, slowly and without drama, the S2000 hit the streets on fire and kept going with a mild refresh or two till it just plain overstayed it's welcome, it is as much a classic car as the first miata, yet somehow more. Lucky for all of us the miata will continue and perhaps we shall see a mazdspeed, maybe the 3 engine?

Summary... whatever you love about your miata or the MX5, the Honda provides more of that quality or qualities, and for a bit more money. Not a hard choice unless you wish a hardtop convertible, a good sound system, real guages, and a brand new car.

Right, like AP1 and AP2 - just mysterious internal platform designations. I would use something more colorful like "Flaming Sword Series 1" or something...

DT, what is the source for the list at the top of the page? I would have thought the Elise would be higher, perhaps that is because of the bonded joints (?).
