Default Need Help Biulding Engine

A friend and I are trying to do something realy custom with his 92 Civic Hatch...he just bought a B18B Long block offline and the head is shot...he was going to do LS/Vtec....So he picked up a B16A2 head for about $350.00..... He has a First gen FWD Eagle Talon Turbo..The head on the car is also blown but the block looks to be in fine shape along with the turbo etc...My question is can we get a B16 head on a 4G63 Block and run a AEM EMS...The block from the LS and the 4G look exactly the same...I am thinking the only problem will be wiring Vtec but like I said the Block look so much alike I think it will be about as hard as LS/Vtec...PS it even looks like it will block in using the same mounting points.....Need advice and from anyone with knowledge about Either Engine/ Or Both...Has this ever been tried...Thanks JOhn

i just went on there for the first time, and i got a headache. also i noticed (in the s2000 forum) they told all the newbies to go to s2ki.com because 'thats where all the n00bs should go." wow, i didnt know hondatech.com was so prestigious.

dude, anything is possible. dont waste your time with the dipshits at honda tech. most arent even techs.
listen, if the combustion chambers line up with the cylinders, and the stud holes line up, your off to a good start. one problem, B series turns counterclockwise, and 4G63 turns clockwise. so right off your in trouble, you could make it happen, but the stock oil pump wont be useable. dry sump. then to top that off, you have to time the cams to the crank, and youll have to use the crank pulley off of the B, but im in heavy doubt that the distances from crank to cams is the same, so setting up a tensioning system, is gonna be rough. cooling and oil drainback will be another interesting concern. if you could work all this out, and there is surely stuff i overlooked, youd be god. but id give it some thought anyways. later dave

Honestly it wont work, like stated above the motors turn in different directions and the head wont even mate on to the block.

Dont go to Honda-Tech... They are nothing but JDM bandwagoners who think theyre the shit.

Drop that in a Civic and you`ll have a 10 Second car if you can control the spinning...The whole Idead behind doing it is to get the TQ #s up...I will try to contact this guy I found it when I was searching the net...I will try to get pics etc to post

If you do want to pursue this.. only place to go would be a DSM site.. maybe the person that did it already? Or Honda-Tech Hybrid forum.

why would you want to do this.no offense but you obviously dont know enough to do something like this. dont take offense to that, i am just saying that it is out of your league. mine too.

this is the part where you make a mental note to prove me wrong once you do it.

do you want this for a dsm or for a civic? either way it will be way cheaper to not do an "abortion that lived" type of swap.

just think of all of the people that have such a hard time keeping thier dsms running when everything is a dsm part.
