Need help finding an engine
I have this friend (seriously, not for me) who has been told that her late model Integra's engine needs to be replaced. I have no details about it, other than 3 mechanics say it is a gonner.
Can anyone point me in the direction of someone that sells rebuilt engines? Thanks in advance!

Probably cheaper to buy used JDM:

hmotorsonline.com
www.attarco.com
We talking RS/LS/GS or GS-R?
Should be able to find non-vtec motor for around $1,000. A full rebuild will probably cost > twice that unless you have a hook-up.
You should post your location in case someone local can help you out.

Thanks for the reply. i am not sure which Integra it is, other than it is NOT a GS, GSR. I believe it is non vtec. We are in the Seattle area, so, anyone in the Pacific NW out there who knows some info, let me have it!!!!

Call passwordjdm to see if this offer is still available:

$699 + $200 shipping.
And make sure they have something from the same year or higher so you can SMOG the car.

im not sure if youre thinking about emissions with these motors. it sounds like this is just a girl and her daily driver. i would stay away from a jdm motor if shes not really into cars. less hassle when it comes time for inspection. also, vtec honda motors are very easy to differentiate from non-vtec. does the valve cover say "DOHC VTEC" on it? if not, then its not vtec. non-vtec (LS, B18B's) can be had for very cheap w/ or without a tranny. a full GSR changeover (engine, tranny, ecu, linkage etc) is only about $3200 and thats DOHC VTEC. if she doesnt need a tranny, ecu, linkage and just wants to swap in a lesser mileage B18B in there, itll be a direct bolt in, and a lot cheaper than $3200.

Why do you say that? It is no problem (at least in California) as long a you transfer the emissions equipment from the old engine.

When I was looking to do this for my LS, JDM was by far the cheapest way to get a low-mileage engine with some kind of warranty(Junkyards often just sell as-is and the mileage is probably higher).

edit: a usdm b18b can be had for like $400 nowadays; but youre right on the mileage of usdm motors; usually a lot higher than jdm
