Default need opinion on car purchase

or 04 350Z conv

I am thinking of buying a new car for me, sort of upgrade. Now the choice is obvious, convertible. But not the selection. Here is what I have in mind

05 S2000
02 Boxter S
02 SLK320
04 350Z

I test drove S2000, and it's nice. I haven't drive the Boxter S yet. I don't really like 350Z but just want to mix it up along with 02 SLK320. All are in within my price range

What do you think?

I'm no expert, but I did own a Z3 and currently own an 03 S2000. I drove an 02 Boxster S. I don't have any experience with the previous gen SLK but don't think it's on par with BS or S2000

The BS v S2000 is what I'd say it would come down to, and throw in a Z4 3.0 if they're in that price range.

I guess you'll know a 02 BS will be used so various maintance will be more expensive, but (maybe) it's greater part of depreciation will be over.

I try not to buy a car worried about depreciation so generally I'd prefer a brand new car, and IMO the S2000 is very close to a BS, the BS has more TQ and is more forgiving at the limit, but I think the S2000 is more fun and def has a better shifter.

Buying used you'll save $$ but maybe you bought someone elses headache, ie maybe it's a turd.

I know all the above is not much help, but if I had to pick I'd rather have a 05 S2000.

However, make sure you fit well, I'm not fitting in my S2000 as well as I would like, my right leg gets a numb area from pressure of the center tunnel, maybe the 04/05 have revised the interior to be more forgiving.

What's the 0-60 for S2k and for Boxster S ?

I test drove S2k today and it fits me well. I haven't test drive Boxster S yet, so I can't say, but I like S2k, the driving experience is wonderful

the lease deal this month on the s2000 blows any of these away as far as a "deal" goes. go get the S, best bang for the buck!

05 S2000 is about 5.4 s (C&D)
05 Boxster S is about 5.2 s

However, the 2002 is slower than the 2005 I think. If you were looking for performance, I think the 2005 S2000 is the best choice, since it'll be new, cheaper to maintain, and a LOT less common than the BS.

If you're seriously considering those other cars, then you probably aren't a candidate for the SLK320.

I'd go with the S, its such a wonderful car. My buddies mom use to have a 02 Boxster S, and it was nice but not very practical, she paid out the ass for it in the first place, and any kind of mantience was out the ASS!!!!! My mom also currently owns one of the conv slk 320 and their not all that great, I have much more fun in my S than that. GO WITH THE @!!

Boxster S
350Z
SLK 320

S2000

are you retarded?

both are 2-seat roadsters, and the BS has more cargo space than an S2000.

yet, you call the BS impractical, in relation to an S2000.

idiot.

Im the idiot?? Your the one who read Boxster S impractical and stopped reading soon as you saw that, if you had continued reading you would of seen why I said it was impractical, for one because to change the oil you can't just drive down to your local Jiffy Lube you have to take it to a Porsche dealership, which where I live the closest one is 3 hours away, and it also cost a lot more than a normal oil change. Yep so I'm the idiot.
