Default need some help on new car

I've been reading this forum everyday for about 6 months now, but i finally joined because i need some advice.

Heres the problem, we currently have an S2000, a BMW 330xi, and a honda odyssey minivan. We want to combine the beamer and the van and get something larger that can hopefully be somewhat fun to drive.

My thoughts right now are:
Lexus GX470- drove this and was pleasently surprised
Infinity FX45- really disappointing, couldnt fit more than a couple sets of golf clubs, and wasnt as fast and anticipated.
New 5-series- I need some more opinions on this, as i havent heard too much about it

Any other suggestions would be great... the idea is to be able to sit 4 people comfortably along with four sets of golf clubs and some luggage(we have a house in hilton head that we need to drive 12 hours to with 4 people). Fun to drive is definitely a huge bonus and would be a consideration.

Thanks in advance for the help, sorry if the post was a little lengthy.

Brennan

Are you getting rid of the S2000?

Why not replace the 330xi with whatever large sedan you're buying?

No i'm keeping the S is staying, but we want to get rid of the van because it sits in the driveway for weeks at a time getting no use. Ideally we would keep the S and the 330xi but we need something that can carry 2 adults and 2 teenagers on trips, and the 330xi doesnt have the cargo space, obviously neither does the S.

Audi S6 wagon would be fast, luxurious, fun, and AWD for those wonderful east coast winters.

Well the 5 series is a little small for 4 people plus luggage etc...It'sis said to be a great car, just not BIG.

The FX45 is probably darn near as fast as the S2000, may not feel fast but it is the fastest NA SUV, faster than the AMG M55, and the X5 4.6L believe me it's fast. But it's not gonna be as roomy as the MDX.

I'd go with the MDX because you can still get the magic 3rd row seat like the Odyssey.

2003 4Runner. If you liked the GX470, the 4Runner Limited is pretty nice too, and a little more sporting if you get the X-Reas suspension, plus it's a heck of a lot cheaper, not sure if that's an issue with you. Same V8 engine and tranny as the GX, plus you get an electronic transfer case. Lots of the same amenities, but no 3rd row, but this doesn't seem to be a necessity for you.

I love the idea of the S6 wagon, sporty and nice and fast, great suggestion. The MDX is also on the list to check, but i think it will drive too much like a van which will not do it, we're looking for more towards the 330xi in the sport department. The 4runner was a pick of mine but i got shot down due to lack of luxury, and the extra money for the GX470 isnt really an issue. If i had my way we would get the 4runner i think.

The S6 would be great, does anyone know how the pricing is on them?

Thanks for the help guys, keep the advice coming

I would say MDX or RX330 based on your needs. Drive the MDX, u will realize it is far superior to the GX in the handling dept(though comparing it to a 330i would be dumb). Much cheaper, and will probably meet your needs. The Lexus has a better interior(especially the new RX330).

the S6 has a 4.2l v8 and lists for $61k. My choice would be A6 twin turbo, or with the V-8. The A6 has 17 cubic feet of trunk space. That is plenty for 4 people on a roadtrip. Plus, it looks awesome as a sedan, avg. as a staion wagon.
