You know, it would be really handy if the repost-callers could post a link to the original discussion. Sure, a search could find the original, but then the repost-callers would be providing a helpful service instead of just being annoying.

all that does is bump/perpetuate a thread that shouldn't have been created (like what were doing now)

then again the avg s2ki forum user is just high enough above the AOL user to think he is an internet expert

Au contraire, posting a link redirects traffic to the original thread so that people who didn't see it can read it and avoid rehashing. Plus, you complain about bumping the thread, but posting "repost" bumps the thread anyway.

And although "I've been on the internet longer than you have" is the lamest possible pissing match, if you're implying that you've been on the internet longer than I have, you're wrong.
