Default The new Jaguar Tiburon!

2010 Jag XKR

So.... I wonder if Jaguar figured "Hey, Hyundai is making the Genesis coupe now, lets just take the old Tiburon design!"

Anyone else see what I see or am I out of my mind here.

I think you're out of your mind - the Jag design is much older than the Hyundai design - its a refresh of the 2007 model, which is pretty different anyway. What are you going off of, two doors and a hatch back?

The 2007 XKR does look like the older Tiburons up front IMHO.

My thought is the refreshed Jag looks more like the old Jag than any version of the Tiburon.

Do they have similarities? Yeah. Did Jag copy the Tiburon? Most certainly not.

But I guess if you're one of those that says the S2000, Boxster, Z3/4, etc., all look like Miatas, then you're right.

You're way off base. Not even close. Different styling altogether. Only the headlights are remotely similar and believe me, Jaguar is not going to look to the Tiburon for styling cues.

I'm not saying Jag copied the Tiburon on purpose. Its just that everytime I see the car I think of big ass headlights on the Tiburon. The folks that live next to my parents have one. After two years I still think that. A car costing $70,000+ shouldnt draw that close of a resemblance.

^ Im with you Onehots2k... All kidding aside i know that jag has no reason to steal its styling cues from Hyundai, nor is it likely that they did. I just think they are eerily similar. Also, being that the Tiburon it reminds me started selling in 2003 and that jag change over took place in 2007 as mentioned, I have to give the visual credit to Hyundai in my head.

Im sure jag dug deep and pulled styling cues off of its own line... there is just something about the front and side profile that say Tiburon to me in the finished product. The majority may be against me, but in cases like these, i only need one or two people to agree with me to make me not feel loco.

... and im hardly one of THOSE people. Admittedly, I do find similarities in things, especially random people, more easily then other people I know.
