Default New track experience

Just got an invite from a friend to take this car out on a track with him at a 'all guys' sort of event. We do stuff each year, without the girls.
Invite refers to a website that introduces a new driving program with the Atom.
Seems like the only chance to drive this car without buying one first.

Just sharing.....

Not at the price they want you to pay. That would cover 9 track weekends for me. So as much as I would love to drive one, that price will keep me away.

You could drive shifter karts for much cheaper, and prob. have a similar experience...

I received the invite from Brammo (Ariel Atom builder in the US).

I was very stoked until I saw the price... Then I wanted to send a return email saying "FUUK YOU"!!!!

The first thing I thought (after FU) was that I'd much rather rent a shifter kart, as mentioned above. I tried it at Willow Springs, and it was a BLAST, for about $300 per 1/2 day.

Well, the truth is, I'd prefer to drive the Atom on a full-size track - but not at that price.

I don't think they are doing this to make money on renting out the Atom, I'm sure they only want potential buyers to show up, thus the high price. Not many of us can afford a fair-weather toy that runs $45,000 - $90,000.

I could possibly afford a low-end Atom, but not if I attend the Atom track day!

Damn ballers.

I think the price WAS meant to keep down the number of people who will be there. I mean, its like a Ferarri test drive; I'm sure they're only gonna invite people who have a high chance of buying it.

Plus it's 14 person's per event.

Nevertheless, I don't have that kind of money to spend.

With such a limited attendance, I suspect the price simply reflects the cost of renting the tracks, liability insurance, transportation and other logistics.

I don't think it'd be possible to offer it for much less, unless they plan to subsidize the event with money from elsewhere.
