No C6, but how about this?

It seems pretty clear that $195 is it. I suspect they have premium memberships that will let you have the boat a whole day or some other benefits, but the basic plan as described would be fine for my needs.
I also like that you can take out a wide variety of boats.

*Boat owners in the United States use their boats an average of 15 times
annually (NMMA).
*Do the math, it will cost the average boat owner somewhere between
$500-$1000 per use.
*The NMMA also reports that the average boaters needs change every 2-5 years.
That means that the boat you purchase today will most likely not meet your needs
in 2-5 years.

[QUOTE=y2ks2k,Aug 19 2008, 01:30 PM] Peoples opinions are pushing me more towards the 18" Bowrider (max $250 a month vs $700).
I have a lot of friends with boats / Jet Skiis and most of them agree with you guys. But there

When I was a teen, I used to work at a boat supply shop and got to know a few customers quite well. All of them echoed the same sentiments....boating costs major $$$$$, as people already have repeated here. If you are going to get your feet wet so to speak, just make sure you are fully aware of not only the costs to operate, but the maintenance, docking fees, storage, etc, etc.
I would also look at how much you are actually going to use the boat as well. Will you use it often (i.e. every weekend) or just a few times a season. Seeing that you are up in the Pacific Northwest, you have a small window to really use that boat.

Sooo...although 'it seemed clear' that the $195 a month was it, it wasn't it after all. I would definitely take a tour and talk to someone face to face. As I mentioned with today's fuel prices the fuel cost alone could easily exceed the $295 monthly fee with just a days usage. Make sure there aren't anymore unknowns...
Agreed, gas expense on a boat, esp. when you have to fill up @ a marina, can be painful. At least they have a sailboat available!
