North American Car of the Year
[QUOTE=slicksilver,Jan 10 2006, 08:46 PM] You're right....the 2006 Civic and Ridegline winning COTY means that Honda will make the best cars until the end of humanity and will win every award from this point on

You are missing the point, or I guess exaggerating the hell out of it. I did not say that I would only have Hondas, nor did I say that Honda is the only auto maker that is worth a darn ever and everything else sucks etc. But, winning car and truck of the year is a good example of how good their products are.
If and when I can afford a Ferrari...I will pass. Porsches is what I will buying...always loved them, can't wait to have one. My wife will be the one driving the Accord.

Before I bought my Ridge, I spent an abnormal amount of time researching and test-driving suvs and trucks figuring I'd finally make a change away from Honda. It was an educational experience but it basically brought me full circle back to the H dealer. Sure there is going to be that guy who needs to haul his 9,000 lb trailer or the kid who wants to do some "serious off-roading"...let them buy a Sierra 2500 and a Rubicon then. For the other 85% of the market, the Ridge does the job.
The Detroit awards were really a nice kudo on top of MT's awards.

The Ridgeline also won the truck award for Car and Driver. They said it was because it was like an Accord, even though it couldn't go off-road or tow stuff like the other trucks.
that is because 90% of the people who buy trucks, don't go off-road or tow stuff.

which means that 100 percent of those people that don't go off road and don't tow stuff don't need a truck.
