Default NSX vs. S2000 ?

It looks like my next car will be a 2004 NSX. I have driven the 03 S2000. Has anybody driven both these cars before. Care to share the experience ? Any input would be appreciated.

Unless you are leasing, why not get a used 02 or 03. Let someone else take the first big hit.

It has been said many times before -- but 90k is a bit out of line with the performance offered, especially given the fact that a replacement is due very soon.

I am leasing. It's an incredible deal right now. I know they will be replacing it within the next year, year and a half, but it will be on a 36 months lease with really good terms. I figure the performance is still equal to an M3, or 911 and those were the other cars I was looking at. I just really like the look of the NSX, and the "exclusivity" factor of getting one (there are a lot of 911's & M3's where I live, and I just wanted something different). I currently have a 911, and I just want to try something different.

If I were buying or leasing a new NSX, I'd definitely wait for the replacement.

Otherwise, like Steve said, get a used 02-03.

If you like the S2000, you'll like the NSX. They're similar, but the NSX is more refined.

Good luck.

Yeah, they do have a really good lease deal right now, albeit with low miles (7,500 if I recall correctly)

Not to start a pissing match, because honestly I don't care and I think the NSX is a great car, just a bit overpriced -- but a recent 996 vs NSX article had the 911 quicker in most if not all measures .... although not by much.

I bought a 98 NSX in late 98 and I think it's an awesome car. Stock it's a bit soft especially around turns. I fixed mine up and it was a mean machine by the time I was done. I personally would wait for he new one since this one has been around for quite some time.

Now I own a 2004 S2000 and I have to say it's a very fun car. Easy to toss around and very quick steering. I leased this one and have leased in prior years an E46 M3, 996 Cab and an Audi S4. I believe I might buy this one after the lease is up.

Just my 0.02.
