I'm sure they are fun, but fun alone doesnt do it for me, its gotta look good too. And in my opinion, the one pictured is ugly.

Yea you should definitely do a 96-02 gen II. Many, many improvements to make it more usable and they are only a few thousand more. If you want a driver look for a "high miler" - AKA - 40K.

That thing is so goddamned ugly it makes me want to gouge my eyes out. I love the new Vipers, but they sure have come a long way. Ouch.

You know the first gen is one of those cars that in photos theyre just blah, but they make quite the impact in person. I do like the second gen better, especially in coupe form.
