It seems like you've taken offense to others' opinions. I think what they're getting at is that once people get used to it, they will begin to rely on it. I find that driving a car with an AUTOMATIC transmission will cause me to be a less attentive driver, not that it was intended to have that effect. Please remember that driving should not be habitual (apart from putting on the seatbelt), and the more autonomous the driving experience is, the more habitual it will become.
