Default opinions please

I just got my motorcycle license, and now I am getting ready to buy a new bike. I was wondering if anyone else has a bike and what they would recommend to get. I am thinking of getting a 2008 honda cbr600rr. It would be my first bike, but not the first bike I have ridden.

there is a motorcycle section of the board.

i would hope you are fairly experienced for going with a CBR600RR as a first bike....

any more, you almost need to get a 1988 Kawasaki EX500 or something semi lame until you get used to people pulling out in front of you, etc....

goodluck!

Get a Ninja 250. Learn how to ride then get a faster bike. If you're so concerned about looking cool, there's no bigger joke than a person who wants to pose on a 600 but gets outrun by someone on a 250.

Or you could be one of those guys who finance a new super sport bike and can't afford full coverage then proceed to bin the bike.

Like I said. It is going to be the first bike I own. I have been riding streetbikes for a while. Currently I ride my friends 03 r6. He rides his r1. I just dont like the way that the r6 leans so far forward. I have heard that the hond is really comfortable to ride.

I got a GS500 for my first bike. I still feel it's plenty fast enough for commuting and just riding around. It's great on gas (50-60mpg) and TECHNICALLY can use regular (I still fill with premium). It's is fun enough but I'm finally getting to the point of wanting to get rid of it for something bigger/nicer. In no way is it too little bike, actually..I just want something with a little more to it just because.

Ive been riding since I was seventeen. I started on my uncles 250 and rode every weekend with him. I ride religiously with my friends on the weekends, unless the weather does not permit it. I have never owned my own bike becasue my parents told me I couldn't have one while I lived under there roof. I moved out five months ago, and now I want to get my own bike. Why are you all bashing me!

I am use to riding the r6. It just that on long rides its not that comfortable. The point to this thread wasn't to ask what I should buy as a starter bike, I guess I should have been more clear and asked if anyone knows of a decently comfortable streetbike. I know they are not as comfortable as cruisers, but like previously stated, I heard the homdas are pretty comfortable, and I was just looking for some opinions.
