our S versus M3 handling
whoever said the e46 M3 was not a sports car is a complete moron.
The E46M3 is a GT car -- but in my book a poor example. The car has become too bloated and isolated to be a contender.
It is a shame what VW did with the GTI. It is a damn shame that BMW did the same damn thing with the M3.
With the recent addition of things like idrive, active steering and bangle styling; BMW is now dead to me. While I am willing to tolerate shitty sales people and horrible service experiences for things like my past two M coupes, there is nothing in their inventory that even remotely invokes this tolerance.
I might as well have a Porsche. Sure it costs more, but the dealers are still trained to kiss my ass -- and the car is a hell of a lot faster and better at the things my past BMW's did so well.

It's cool. I really do wish I could have both... There's a local auto auction... bank repos / theft recovery, etc. etc. 03 s2000's were selling in the mid teens. I paid 35k for my 03...
I'm gonna pick up another 03 sometime this summer, and gut the bitch all the way down to the metal.
