Default The Porsche Experience?

I've heard people say driving a Porsche is unlike any other car, the driving experience whether it be for daily driving or on the track is simply amazing.

The above statement reminds me of what people say about Ferraris. Anyone who has gone from an S2000 to a Porsche (Boxster S, Cayman S, or 996 Carerra) care to share their experience.

Honestly, from what I've read its the steering feel. And trust me you will sure as hell pay a premium for it. There is nothing like a car that communicates with you; and there is such a thing. My s2000 is a great communicator but its in a different way than the Porsche and BMW does to me.

i've never owned a porsche but i was able to drive a friends 05 boxster-s, a co-workers 996 911-s and i managed to get a ride in a 997 gt3, and i think it has more to do with being able to say that you own a porsche. don't get me wrong they drive amazingly and they make wonderful noises at full boil but i can't imagine paying 911 money and have it as my daily driver. i'd hate to park that car anywhere unless if it was in my garage.

im a bit young to comment, but i think back in the day where car truly sucked in general, the porsche or ferrari raw experience WAS amazing. think about an old civic, al bundy dodge or datsun. porsche's are very good, but with cars like the s2k and evo undercuttting them, it's becoming just a marketing thing to say "porsche experience."

I understand Porsches are priced very high but you can pick up a used one with a couple of years of factory warranty still left. I've seen Cayman S and Boxster S in the mid $40s and even 03-04 911 Carerras in high $40s.

i think its in the TOTAL experience... BMW luxury with S2000 agility, beautiful steering due to no weight on the front wheels, awesome braking, good power to weight ratio, ultra-refined suspension tuning, excellent build quality, unique design, exclusivity... Porsche pedigree....

I really have to TOTALLY disagree with you. In my garage there is my turbo MY01 S2k, and a 07 Porsche C2S which is my mothers. Its stick and let me tell you I would trade my turbo s2k for it in a heartbeat. The power is good enough, 355 and a great amount of torque for DD. It has a tubi exhaust on it and I absolutely love it. The interior maybe plain to some people but its just very refined IMHO it has everything you need, navi, audio, cup holders, compartments, chrono(optional). The design is timeless as porsches have not changed that drastically in looks unlike many other brands. The transmission feels WAY better than an s2k (driven many other than mine) its just so nice, silky smooth, and easy. I know many will say the s2k has one of the best, but then I'll have to say you haven't driven a new porsche. I can't comment on older porsches except for a 2002 911 Turbo I test drove before which was fast but I really like the 07 carreras overall in everything.

Cliff NOTES
-Porsche lives up to its name in driving experience
-I have a turbo s2k and would trade for it in a heartbeat
-Amazing DD, although I do feel the s2k is more raw only because I have GT35R in it lol

I agree, and find my CS to be a much more fulfilling driving experience than any previous car. Steering feel, engine music, overall balanced performance, etc all contribute to a sublime driving driving experience. Unlike many performance cars, it's fun to drive even at a moderate pace.

IMO, it nicely bridges the gap between more mainstream brands and exotics in a reliable, low maintenance, economical package that feels special from behind the wheel.

I have to agree, in all honesty before driving the porsche I never really gave them much thought other than they look nice. I've driven many high end cars and can honestly tell you the Porsche is a great driver's car in all aspects. My only disappointment is that I can't drive it everyday lol.

Also its very comfortable...lol I don't know if that matters to us since we are s2k owners but even though the price tag is $$$ its worth it if you can afford it. Don't bash it because you can't afford it. I'm not going to bash a lambo because I def. can't afford it lol
