Default powershifting advice!

Just wanted to hear some different opinions on the matter! I consider myself a decently experienced honda driver/shifter however with a boosted RWD setup it drives totally different!!!

I have had numerous front wheel drive NA cars that has formed this habbit. When I say powershift I mean I leave my foot on the gas.... (not slammed down) just slightly down in anticipation of the next gear.... never fully lifting off the gas pedal!!! Even on the s2k this works very well IMO with NA power. With boosted applications however you have so much more power that when you let off the clutch the rear end jumps to the right significantly!

More for safety reasons im thinking I need to learn to take my foot entirely off the gas during shifts!

what do you guys think????

unless your car is exactly the same speed as the other car, i dont think its worth the damage your doing to the synchros and diff. To each their own of course, but i haven't ever powershifted and i don't plan on it.

what kind of management are you using? some managements allow for a safe variation of this.

i think kpro and ems support it. they detect the clutch engagement and temporarily cut fuel or spark to keep the revs down. something like that?

I see your point!!! I dont do it to be faster necessarily, its just habit!!! Mentally Its just feels different to lift entirely off the gas...

funny because I did this today while passing another car going into 2nd from 1st just to piss off the turtle in front of me.

I nearly lost control and the rear attempting a no lift shift and spun all of 2nd to 3rd gear. I say if you value life... dont do no lift shifts from gears 1-3

i am pretty sure my kpro does this but i have not really had the chance to experiment. i would think that EMS does this too.

I wouldn't do it in this car. The synchros are like glass. The ems option you're looking for is called full throttle shift, or fts. You just need to wire a switch to the bottom clutch switch. I honestly don't think it helps in this situation though as you're still slamming the synchros and sleeves into place. It's the easiest way to kill 2nd.

+1 and axles too, assuming they're still stock.
