Prelude was always a classy car but my 95 GSR kicked the living crap out of 'ludes at tight stuff and in the rain (auto-x). I miss my GSR. It was a very civilized performance car.

I would recommend checking back issues of Car and Driver from2001-2002. I remember atleast one comparison between the Prelude, Integra Type R and Celica. But like someone said, the lighter integra is probably the better all-out performer. The prelude is gonna ride smoother and quiter, but still corner pretty darn well.

I had a modded 1998 Prelude before the S2000, and I loved every minute of it. As far as practicality goes, it's a great compromise between sportiness and everyday livability. It also happened to haul serious ass when I got on it. I could routinely bury the speedo (150+ mph) with basic bolt on mods. I didn't even have suspension work done, and can only imagine what a nice set of Teins would have done! The balance and handling were also spot on considering the front drive layout. Don't get me wrong, I have a tremendous deal of respect for the Integra (esp the Type R), but it just didn't do it for me like the Lude did. I'm gonna recommend the Lude in this situation, based on my personal experience.

Go with the Prelude. I currently have a 97 lude as my daily driver. I've owned 96 & 97 GS-R's and a 97 Type R. Integra's are fun but they feel cheap comparatively. Prelude's are definately more compromised in terms of cargo hauling capacity though. I love the torque of the H22 - it feels like is has more torque than my S2k.

That's because it does (but not by much):
Prelude 156 @ 5250 RPM
S2000 153 @ 7500 RPM

Preludes hold their value, I believe better than the S2k.

preludes are more solid cars, but the GSR is faster.

No they don't. They hold very good resale values, but still not there or better than the S2K's.
