2009 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione - Auto Shows

Alfa Romeo will relaunch its sales operations in the United States with the scrumptious 8C Competizione coupe.
BY STEVE SILER, September 2006

The 8C, designed by Alfa Romeo, is directly derived from the concept car that set loins astir at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show, and is the first car we

Looks great. Good luck on it being less than $50K, though. This is a direct M3 competitor (more like a Vette, really) and top models from those are in the mid $60K range. Alfa's are notoriously expensive to buy over here (when they were available) and you'll have a very small dealership/parts network as well. With limited supply of vehicles, the price will likely climb, not drop, compared to MSRP.

As pretty as it is, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

It could be much more than $50,000. Heck, the SC430 is $65,000 and the nice Cadillac-whatever is $78,000. I bet that limited production Alpha Romero is going to be more expensive than either of those.

Yeah, you guys are silly. It's supposed to be around $140,000. They said only 500 copies per year. How they gonna sell it for only $50,000 if they are making only 500 of 'em? Plus, it has a Ferrari-derived V8. Personally, I think the styling is pretty unimaginative. Almost amatuerish, IMHO.

Well it was a nice thought

They should mass produce it and sell it for $50,000 though

Autoweek estimated $200K.

Whatever the exact price, it's a halo car for Alfa, like the GT for Ford. Buyers will be cross-shopping the F430, Gallardo, Bentley, etc.

I would have thought it would compete with the M3, Vette, Cayman S, etc. Guess not.
