Triple-H....I'd love to see a CR-Z turbo diesel version on top of the hybrid.

Mike- I just want a clutch, I just want a clutch, I just want a clutch...
And, if I can't have that, then I could live with a semi-manual/auto with paddle shifters, sort of BMW SMG like, but a straight CVT like what is the only Civic hybrid tranny choice would kill me.

Honestly, I know squat about diesel, I'm not sure why I would want one of those over the normal gas + IMA.

2009 FIT would be a great option to the insight too. To bad the Hybrid will get at least 15mpg. H, the fit is the only way to go if you want a clutch.

Time will tell, I keep holding out for a paddle shift option because the whole concept behind CR-Z is not just economy, but hybrid + sporty car. Because of this concept tthe door is still open for something unique.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Fit, but no f'ing way am I buying a 4-door, I'm totally into all things CRX, and although this new car is called CR-Z, it ain't fooling me for a second, it is a 3rd Gen CRX, And As I have owned an '87 Si and still have my '90 Si, I must have this, the Fit is not the right fit for me.

Honda is set to introduce in the UK a Civic Hatchback Type-R with a 1.8L turbo diesel producing 180hp and 360 lbs ft of torque!!! Imagine that in the CR-Z. Talk about a killer app!

Ok, I can see where 360 ft-lbs could be a lot of fun.... So is this the deal, diesels are typically high in torque for the size of the engine?

Still, all in all, the rumored CR-Z specs ain't too bad, considering 66 mpg. 1.3 I4, 118 hp, 268 ft-lbs.

Damn it man, just tell me it won't ONLY have a CVT tranny...

Ok... I would not tell ya.

Honestly, you will never see Honda make a manual IMA system EVER again. The last time Honda did the Insight/Civic hybrid manuals, they had battery problems. Because the battery could be forced/abused by the driver to work over time... you know, put it in taller gear and let the electric motor do the acceleration... instead of ICE.

where is the 248lb of tq coming from? I wonder how much torque the Honda GSH/Hybrid will have.

IMA = Integrated Motor Assist.

Electric motors have not only huge torque, but they have all their torque as soon as they are turned on.

That's the theory behind the increase in CVT's, thus my concern....

I could live with this though, a manual shift auto, ala BMW SMG.
